I'm Kim Skilton

Global Award Winning Marketer with a passion for blending art and science to create great marketing.
I’m here to shake up your knowledge and approach to marketing — giving you the tools and know-how to make smarter and more profitable marketing decisions.
With 15 years corporate experience for leading brands including Accor, Air New Zealand, Virgin, Velocity and Flight Centre, I have been responsible for creating and executing multi-million dollar brand campaigns and tactical retail campaigns.
During my time with Flight Centre, I was awarded Global Marketer of the Year and was lucky enough to enjoy "Global Ball" in Barcelona with guest of honour Richard Branson. Prior to that, I was very fortunate to be the Marketing lead on Virgin’s global launch of their frequent flyer program, Velocity. During my time with Virgin, I was also given the great honour and opportunity to launch the Virgin brand into the South Pacific skies of New Zealand and Fiji. So many great memories along with many great friendships and achievements made along the way.
In 2015, I started What Matters Marketing where I have spent over 7 years working with small to medium sized businesses to accelerate their growth. From achieving a 26% year on year increase in sales for an established e-commerce business, to setting the brand strategy for a female travel company start up, to delivering a strategic partnership for a work wear brand and a V8 racing team, I have gained enormous depth and breadth of marketing experience that my clients can tap into to set the right strategy for their business.
